Crime fighting app for Hatfield to spark commercial interest

As crime becomes more prevalent in urban locations worldwide, unique ways of combating it are being discovered. Hatfield, one of Pretoria's most established commercial and residential areas, have just been praised for an initiative which uses smartphone and computer technology to fight crime. The #MyHatfield App was recently launched and according to the Pretoria East Record Community Newspaper, the App is free of charge and is a part of a project spearheaded by the City Improvement District of the area, in conjunction with a variety of other collaborators including the Metro Police.

"Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said the Hatfield CID was one of Brooklyn police's valued partners in the fight against crime". -Liam Ngobeni (https://rekordeast.co.za/209501/new-app-launched-in-hatfield-to-fight-crime/)
Other stakeholders who are doing their part to ensure that the project is a success include, "The University of Pretoria, the Tshwane the metro police department, private security companies, and car guards" -states Ngobeni.

A project such as this restores consumer confidence in a region, in terms of commercial development. This is why investment in Hatfield has recently seen a surge in property expansion. The commercial property market is an industry that has benefited from CID's and other crime-fighting projects. This has resulted in strong investment from property developers, most notably for business and office parks. The App is currently available for free download at the Google Play and App Stores and it hopes to become useful for the rest of Pretoria and other cities in South Africa and abroad.

There are a host of property companies who have sited Hatfield as a clear winner for its tight-knit community of business owners and residents, who are committed to the safety of the region. One such company is OfficePlace Property Specialists. They currently have almost 200 available properties for rent in the suburb of Hatfield, that all range in price and size to suit anyone's operational requirements. Couple this with world-class infrastructure, such as the Gautrain and you have one of the leading commercial districts in South Africa. The Gautrain service has been praised for its contribution to combating traffic congestion and air pollution around the Gauteng Province.

Hatfield is known for its massive vintage houses, which have often been earmarked for international interests. Some of these houses have been converted into office blocks, which are seen to be desirable for those looking for something out of the typically modern office or Business Park that has become standard. Besides this, the city is noted for being green and is famous for its jacaranda trees which decorate the streets with purple flowers, during certain times of year.

"The lovely, sedate neighbourhood of Hatfield has become known as the embassy suburb because of the inclination of embassies to move into the large homes that grace the area, which does, in turn, give one an indication of their size. Hatfield lies in the heart of Pretoria, just outside the city centre between Arcadia and Lynnwood." -https://www.sa-venues.com/attractionsga/hatfield.php
